How to play Wordle Unlimited
Type any 5-letter word and press Enter. The tiles flip to reveal clues: green = right letter in the right spot, yellow = the letter is in the word but somewhere else, grey = not in the word. You have 6 tries to find the hidden word. Use the physical keyboard on desktop or tap the on-screen keys on mobile.
Tips to win more often
Open for information: start with a word full of common letters — CRANE, SLATE, AUDIO or TRACE. Five fresh letters beat a lucky guess.
Trust the keyboard: greyed-out letters are dead — never reuse them. Yellow letters must move to a new spot.
Watch doubles: if a letter shows yellow twice, the word may contain it twice. Green locks a position; test the remaining slots.
Think in word families: after 3 clues, list possible endings (-IGHT, -OUND, -EACH) instead of guessing blindly.
📅 Daily challenge: everyone gets the same word each day — solve it, then hit Share result to post your emoji grid (🟩🟨⬛) and compare with friends without spoiling the answer.
Why unlimited?
The original daily word game gives you one puzzle per day. This version keeps the exact same rules and scoring but lets you play as many rounds as you like — perfect for practice, vocabulary building, or a quick break between tasks. Your stats (played, win rate, streaks) are saved privately on your own device.
❓ Frequently asked questions
Is Wordle Unlimited free to play?
Yes — completely free. No account, no download, no payment. It runs entirely in your browser on phone, tablet or desktop.
How many tries do you get?
Six tries per word. In Unlimited mode a new puzzle starts instantly after each game; Daily mode gives everyone the same word once per day.
What do the green, yellow and grey colours mean?
Green = right letter in the right position. Yellow = the letter is in the word but in the wrong position. Grey = the letter is not in the word. The keyboard mirrors these colours.
What is the best starting word?
CRANE, SLATE, AUDIO, RAISE or TRACE — they cover the most common vowels and consonants, so your first guess gives maximum information.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Everything runs in your browser; your stats stay on your own device and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
