Choose your setup
Before you start, you control everything. Pick one of the four operations — addition, subtraction, multiplication or division — or choose Mixed for a surprise every question. Set the difficulty to Easy (numbers 1–10, perfect for kids), Medium (numbers 1–50) or Hard (numbers 1–100). Then choose a quiz length of 10, 20 or 30 questions, and decide how much pressure you want: a 10-second or 20-second timer per question, or turn the timer off for a relaxed practice session.
How scoring works
Every correct answer earns you 10 points. When the timer is on, speed pays off — you earn up to 10 bonus points depending on how fast you answer, so a perfect lightning answer is worth 20 points. Wrong answers and timeouts earn nothing and reset your streak, so think before you tap. The streak counter (🔥) tracks consecutive correct answers; long streaks are the mark of a true mental-math master.
Fair, kid-safe math
The question generator is built for fair play. Subtraction questions are always written so the larger number comes first — you'll never see a negative result, even on Easy. Division questions always divide evenly into a whole number, so there's no messy remainders to guess. And mixed mode draws from all four operations at random, keeping your brain on its toes the way real mental arithmetic should.
Tips for a high score
Want to top the leaderboard of one — yourself? Start on Easy with the timer off until your answers feel automatic, then add the 20-second timer and move up to Medium. For multiplication, drill the times tables up to 10 × 10 until they're instant recall. For division, think backwards: if 56 ÷ 8 stumps you, ask yourself "8 times what equals 56?"
