3. Key storylines
👑 Antonelli's coronation tour?
At 66 points clear of Russell with 7 rounds to go, Antonelli is marching toward a stunning title in his second season. Singapore's walls punish the overconfident though — one brush with the barrier and the gap shrinks fast.
⚡ Singapore's first Sprint weekend
The extra competitive session changes everything at a track where track position is king. Saturday's Sprint gives teams a 21-lap data goldmine before qualifying — expect sharper strategy calls on Sunday.
🐂 Verstappen: still winless in 2026
The four-time champion has zero wins this season — unthinkable two years ago. He finished second here last year, so if Red Bull's updates have landed, Marina Bay is his best bounce-back chance.
🔥 The heat always wins
Drivers can lose around 3 kg of body weight in Singapore's humidity, and safety cars are near-certain on the tight street circuit. One well-timed (or badly-timed) safety car has decided this race before.
🎤 Off-track: a festival weekend
The GP doubles as a music festival: Friday brings JJ Lin and DJ Snake, Saturday headlines The Killers and Zara Larsson, and Sunday closes with Lana Del Rey and Janet Jackson.
4. Our predictions (opinion)
🔮 MixKhazana picks
- Pole: Antonelli — Mercedes own Saturday this year, and his one-lap pace is the class of the field.
- Race win: Russell — the longer race rewards tyre management, and Russell has been the steadier Sunday operator.
- Podium dark horse: Verstappen — second here last year; if Red Bull qualify top six, the safety-car lottery puts him in play.
- Bold call: at least one safety car (there almost always is) — and a top-three finisher starting outside the top five.
